K-beauty: 10 facial care products that are worth the money
by Natalie Hemengül
Our editorial team has put many products through their paces in recent weeks. Keep reading for an overview of our product tests – as gift ideas for Christmas.
Are you one of those gift givers who get their Christmas presents at the last minute? Then we’ve got good news for you! First of all, you still have a tiny bit of time. Anything you order by 5 p.m. on Thursday, 22 December that’s marked as «in our central warehouse» should get to you by 24 December.
Secondly, we’ve got lots of gift ideas. Throughout the year, we editors tested products for you and deemed some of them «worthy to be gifted». Here’s a small selection across our range.
Editor Natalie Hemengül has K-beauty fever and gave her personal stash of face care products a generous overhaul. In her article, she presents her new favourites – from pimple stickers to sunscreen.
When she’s working from home, our fashion expert Stephanie Vinzens prefers these jeans to her beloved tracksuit pants. In fact, she’d love to keep them on forever. In her opinion, «90s Straight» by Calvin Klein are simply «the best pants ever».
Jewellery always makes for a great gift. Now, you might think ear jewellery only makes sense if the person you want to surprise has pierced ears. Not true! Fashion editor Laura Scholz proves this wrong with a versatile selection of clips and cuffs.
Sports editor Michael Restin went into raptures after testing a lightweight cycling jacket. It wasn’t long before our colleague Patrick Bardelli also became a lover of Vaude cycling apparel. During the summer, using the brand’s shorts, hoodie, gloves and other products sparked joy in him.
Editor Michael Restin’s keys went missing for eight whole weeks. If only he had already attached one of the «Thnx Tags» key rings he’d had lying around on his desk for ages. Their QR code would have taken the finder to Michael’s contact info – and he could have had the key returned directly to him.
You’ll have to dig deep into your pocket for this gift. But coffee machine expert Simon Balissat thinks it’s worth the price tag. The «Express Impress» is the perfect entry-level machine into the world of portafilters.
Editor Luca Fontana was also sceptical of this kitchen gadget, a green, cylinder-shaped piece of silicone. But he’s come to love his garlic peeler!
This book provides fans of interior design with 336 pages of great ideas. A number of them may seem unattainable at first glance. But editor Pia Seidel took a closer look and found design ideas that can, in fact, be implemented with little effort.
In terms of the tech, the fourth generation of Tolino’s small e-reader easily keeps up with the 2021 Kindle Paperwhite – so goes the verdict of Martin Jungfer, our Head of Content. And not even a swimming accident is a death sentence for this e-reader.
In terms of noise cancelling, sound and voice quality, charging time and operation, editor David Lee describes the new Sony XM5 headphones as solid and outstanding. The one thing he wouldn’t mind having is a folding mechanism.
Editor Martin Rupf massively underestimated his first opponent in the card game «Punto» and was even inclined to give her tips. And then he lost – to his eight-year-old daughter.
Lego expert Ramon Schneider is always extremely sceptical about Lego alternatives. However, these «Jekca» blocks have won him over. And he would know. After all, he did put eight hours into assembling an 850-piece Jack Russell Terrier.
This talking polar bear’s job is to support family editor Katja Fischer in her daily read-aloud marathons. «Sami » has nerves of steel and will read the same book three times in a row if requested – perfect for her daughters. It’s a nice, though pricey, support for parents.
