These 7 pieces get to the heart of the polka dot trend

Dotted clothing is all the rage again. From ties and jumpers to tights: here are seven items of clothing with polka dots to add some excitement to your look.
Stripes, checks and dots - the undisputed classics among patterns. Nevertheless, I could never really make friends with the latter. Too kitschy, too staid and, in my mind, too closely associated with Zooey Deschanel's quirky looks from the 2010s. Or with carnival costumes like rockabilly lady, Minnie Mouse and toadstool. But last summer it happened: I bought myself a polka dot garment for the first time in many years.

Classic and trend at the same time
With such a classic pattern, it's hard to call it a comeback. The popularity of polka dots, as they are known, has fluctuated over the years, but they have never really gone out of fashion. Nevertheless, it is clear to see that polka dot clothing and accessories have experienced a real boost in the last few seasons, including a change of image.
Modern interpretations that emphasise the retro charm of polka dots in a well-balanced way have not only won me over, but also many others. Polka dots haven't really been as present as they were last year for a long time. The collections for spring/summer 25 from brands such as Valentino, Acne Studios, Moschino and Paloma Wool show that polka dots will remain relevant in 2025 - and will even become more important in menswear.
