Holiday 100: gift ideas based on Google trends
Like giving fashionable gifts, but don’t know where to go from there? According to Google, these items of clothing and accessories are all the rage in 2025.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Stress-mas. Every year’s the same around this time – peak stress, little rest. You’re in the depths of it all and you’re trying to find a meaningful gift for everyone. By this point, you’re running out of ideas yet the possibilities are endless – a lethal combination. My tip? Cheat.
A good virtual cheat sheet is Google’s Holiday 100 list. Every November, the tech company publishes the 100 most searched-for products of the year in seven categories. The advantage being that you have a perfectly curated selection of gift ideas that are highly likely to hit the mark (at least for the masses). The following items are some examples that feature this year:
Fashion trends
Suede jackets
Suede may not be the easiest jacket material to care for, but it’s timeless and always looks elegant. Brands such as Miu Miu and Prada showcased them on their catwalks this year – so it’s no wonder that demand is high. And it’s good that more affordable labels have also got on board with the trend.
Relaxed straight jeans
For a while, jeans were supposed to be wide and baggy, then rumour had it that skinny was making a comeback. If we look at the Google trends, the majority of shoppers have currently settled on a compromise: loose-fitting, straight-cut denim.
Pinstripe button ups
Styled accordingly, striped shirts work just as well at the beach bar as they do in the office. They’re a real wardrobe must-have and a lovely present you can’t go wrong with.
Drop-waist dresses
The low-waist silhouette is somewhat reminiscent of 1920s fashion. In a way, it’s cute that it’s back in fashion now, 100 years later.
Athleisure leggings
It’s hard to know for certain whether all wearers are actually heading out for a workout in their athleisure leggings or just want to lounge around comfortably at home. What is clear, however, is that sporty bottoms are up there with the 100 most wanted products and make a great gift.
Accessory trends
Earbuds cases
You can count the really big names of the most popular in-ear headphones on one hand. So you have to express your individuality in a different way – in this case, clearly in the form of colourful cases.

Bow hair clips
According to Google, we’re still not over the bow trend. They’ve found their way onto garments, into interiors and into our hair. And the latter is still a popular choice.
Chunky bracelets
This trend (and gift option) is all about bold statements. If you’re planning on gifting someone a bangle this Christmas, it should definitely be wide and eye-catching.
Luggage tags
Perhaps the desire for a luggage tag has been influenced by our new-found love of charms of all kinds – like Labubus. Or maybe we just got the travel bug. Either way, the recipient’s sure to be delighted with a pretty luggage tag.
Gym bags
They’re cheaper than sports equipment or a fitness subscription and less complicated than perfectly fitting clothing. A nice gym bag is the ideal gift for anyone in your circle of friends and family who likes to work out or still needs the right motivation.
Always in the mood for good hits, great trips and clinking drinks.
Practical solutions for everyday problems with technology, household hacks and much more.
