These 3 trends leave no doubt: Autumn is on its way
It is getting dark earlier, it is already a bit chilly in the evenings, and the wind is messing up your hair more and more often. Apart from that, it is also undeniable in terms of fashion that we are leaving summer behind us at a brisk pace.
Where shorts, dresses, and airy fabrics hung just a few weeks ago, new collections have now taken over. Collections that leave no doubt about which season is next. In particular, three types of clothing that push their way into stores every late August among various trend pieces are practically screaming: Autumn is coming.
Leather Jackets
Can I be honest? Finally! Although saying goodbye to summer triggers a deep sadness in me every year, I can hardly wait for that short but beloved leather jacket window to open again. If you don't already have a favorite model in your closet—or still have room for a second—for autumn 2026, it's best to go for a voluminous blouson with a high stand-up collar or a boxy jacket with a classic fold-down collar.

Plaid Shirts
Plaid shirts have been in use for months. However, tied around the waist as an accessory. Just in time for the change of season, they are moving from a supporting role to the lead, providing an autumnal lumberjack flannel look. The best thing about these shirts? They can be layered like almost no other piece of clothing. Over tank tops or long sleeves, under blazers or leather jackets, with printed T-shirts and solid-colored basics.

Red
Dark red and burgundy, along with earth tones, are among the (unimaginative) classics of the autumn palette. This year, things can be a bit more striking; the shade of red of the moment is bright and bold. Use it sparingly or consciously, however: individual pieces like a sweater or shirt in bright red provide visual dopamine moments in the post-summer slump.
Does anyone still remember the hyped «Tomato Girl Aesthetic» from 2024? We are right back in the middle of it. Girls, boys, and everyone else.
