Pia’s picks: these designs outshine standard vases
by Pia Seidel

Life doesn’t always go in a straight line – and in design, it’s no different. These curve-tastic pieces from our range show just how lovely that can be.
I’ve recently taken a shine to playful accessories with a scribbly-line look. Candleholders with elegantly curvy bases that seem to meander through the room – delicate, almost fragile, but still bold enough to make a statement. Wall hooks reminiscent of notebook squiggles, crossing wall art with practicality.
Why do I love curvy shapes so much? Maybe it’s because they remind me of nature. Of gentle ocean waves, undulating sand dunes or the flowing outline of a tree. They bring soothing balance to the often harsh, straight-lined elements in our homes, and have an organic, lively look.
So if your home could do with a little more liveliness, these designs will deliver just that.
In my Pia’s Picks series, I regularly showcase my favourite finds – things I might not need, but definitely want.
Like a cheerleader, I love celebrating good design and bringing you closer to everything furniture- and interior design- related. I regularly curate simple yet sophisticated interior ideas, report on trends and interview creative minds about their work.

The use of nature-inspired shapes as a central design element dates right back to the Art Nouveau period. Taking plants, flowers and wavy lines as inspiration, artists and designers created an aesthetic that still captivates us to this day. This mixture of timeless elegance and liveliness always attracts me to shapes like these, whether it’s in architecture, furniture or little accessories.
Although curvy designs are minimalist, they’re anything but boring. They mesh well with almost any interior, all while grabbing attention from every direction. You can emphasise their lightness by combining them with soft colours such as cream or pastel shades. If you’d rather go for a bolder look, they match perfectly with strong colours such as dark green or terracotta. In bright rooms, where light accentuates curvy outlines, they really come into their own.
