«Hi Nati! Tell me, what’s so great about...?»
A retro vibe setting spray, nourishing lip gloss and eyeshadow in stunning nude shades: my colleague tells me all about her make-up favourites.
Can I take a peek at what’s inside your toiletry bag? My fellow editor Natalie Hemengül and I enjoy talking about all things beauty. And I recently spotted three products in her beauty bag that have piqued my interest. I want to know what Nati likes about them so much.
Allnighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay
A true classic. And I thought this brand had long since ceased to exist. But what I really need to know is: is it still THE best spray?
Nati: As in the best setting spray on the market? Well, it’s still my favourite after all these years and use it practically all the time. I use it to moisten my brushes, to water down dry foundations, to apply glittery eyeshadows for a foiled effect and to mist my face after applying make-up for a longer-lasting look. Incidentally, I prefer the slim 30 ml bottle, as it fits in almost every toiletry bag. Then there’s the fragrance, which is pure nostalgia. It takes me straight back to 2016, the heyday of the beauty scene. Sadly, the spray will no longer be available in this form in the future. Why? Because Urban Decay’s ended its long-standing collaboration with Skindinavia (a brand that co-developed and manufactured this cooling product). My heart’s broken.

Feelin’ Comfy Peptide Lipgloss by Essence
Isn’t this lip care product from a limited edition?
It is. If you’re lucky, you might find a product from the Feelin’ Comfy collection at a counter. The shade called Strawberry Self-love gives my lips a rose touch with a subtle shimmer. What I particularly appreciate is the plumping, nourishing feel the formula leaves on my lips. It contains peptides and vitamin E and has a pleasantly sweet fragrance. It’s a great alternative to the hyped and expensive products from Rhode or Summer Fridays.

Our range doesn’t include Natalie’s gloss because it’s a limited edition. Maybe this peptide care product from Essence is just as good?
Master Mattes The Neutrals by Makeup By Mario
Wow, these nude shades are beautiful!
There’s no shimmering in sight. And that’s a good thing. The Neutrals palette by make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic is a neutral answer to the warmer tones he previously released. They also happen to be a perfect match for my olive skin tone. These are one of my most used eyeshadows. They’re buttery, buildable and easy to blend. What more could you want?

Here are my favourites that have piqued Nati’s interest:
As a child, I was socialised with Mario Kart on SNES before ending up in journalism after graduating from high school. As a team leader at Galaxus, I'm responsible for news. I'm also a trekkie and an engineer.
This is a subjective opinion of the editorial team. It doesn't necessarily reflect the position of the company.
