Holy grail products recommended to me by beauty expert Natalie

Make-up brushes, blush and eyeshadow – here’s the story of how my work colleague helped me finally find make-up products I love.
The great thing about Galaxus is we sell pretty much everything. And we have experts for pretty much everything, too. It goes without saying we often share product recommendations. For example, I regularly ask our beauty queen Natalie for make-up advice. In return, I bring her cheap drugstore dupes when I travel from the Hamburg office to the Zurich office.
Over the past two years, Natalie’s recommended three brands or products to me that I’ve grown so fond of I keep buying them.
Nudestix
«Nati, I’m looking for a blush stick that doesn’t glitter or shimmer. Any recommendations?» This was what I asked our beauty expert some time ago – after I’d already made several frustrated rounds through drugstores. What I was looking for was a product that would give my pale, northern German skin some colour without making me glitter like a disco ball. And preferably as a stick, making it easy to carry with me.
Natalie’s recommendation came promptly: «Nudies Matte Blush by Nudestix. It’s matt, has a built-in brush and doubles as moisturiser.» No sooner said than done. I started with a very natural colour called Bare Back. And indeed, Natalie’s advice turned out to be great. I’ve been using the Nudestix to apply make-up to my cheeks ever since. I even use it on my eyes from time to time.
My stick of Bare Back’s almost empty now, so I’ve ordered two new ones. This time, I was a bit more adventurous and went for the slightly peachy colour In The Nude and a cool, strong pink named Naughty N' Spice. And they probably won’t be my last Nudestix products. After all, the brand sells highlighters, foundations and lipsticks, too.

Unfortunately, we don’t have all Nudestix products in stock. In other words, you can still order them from us, you’ll just have to wait longer until they arrive. But trust me, they’re worth the wait.
Natasha Denona
During one of my visits to Zurich, Natalie gave me the Baby Bronze Palette by Natasha Denona. «A present for me?» I squealed in delight and tried it out in the hotel that same evening. I must admit, the warm orange and gold tones aren’t quite my cup of tea. They make my eyes look like I’ve been crying. But I find the quality of the eyeshadow amazing. The colours can be applied and blended in super evenly even though the pigmentation’s quite high.
So I started looking for a palette that suits my complexion better and is more suitable for everyday use. And I found it – the My Mini Dream Palette. The colours are muted and cool, perfect for my pale, slightly rosy skin. Natalie’s comment: «It makes me so happy when someone likes my recommendations!» Me too, Nati. Me too. Especially if that someone’s me.

Make-up brushes
Before I knew Natalie, I used my fingers to apply foundation. That was handy, but also a bit messy. Today, I use a brush. Natalie’s spontaneous recommendation was one by Real Techniques, as their brushes are particularly beginner-friendly. I bought brush number 200 – and experienced for the first time how easy it can be to apply foundation to your face without streaks.

Today, I use brushes by Essence. The Buffer Brush is my favourite. Its bristles are quite tightly packed and create a large surface. This is my second identical model. I accidentally ruined my last one by using the wrong cleaning agent on it. What’s also great is that Essence brushes don’t cost much at all and are available at my local drugstore. I have a small collection of them already.
