From Breton stripes to animal print: the prettiest autumn sweaters

Autumn has arrived at last! Time to wrap up in cosy knitted jumpers. These are 18 of my favourites in different styles and colours.
It’s knitted jumper season. I’ve picked out 18 beauties from six categories featured in our range. As everyone has different preferences, not only in terms of style but also price and comfort, I’ve included materials ranging from polyacrylic to merino wool. Have fun browsing!
Loud patterns
Sweaters with animal or floral prints, geometric and abstract shapes are great accent pieces. They give subtle outfits a bit of an edge. For a classic look, keep the rest calm. If you like to go all in, try combining different patterns.
Colour blocking and gradients
Styles that combine different tones in one garment using ombré or colour blocking are a good way to have fun with colours and contrasts. Combine colourful pieces with jeans or dress pants in neutral tones or add another colour to the look with the bottoms. If you prefer a more subtle look, you can opt for black and white sweaters.
Breton stripes
The classic Breton shirt is named after Brittany. It’s where the striped shirt was established in the 19th century as work clothing for sailors. Traditionally the shirts are a fine-knit in dark blue and white with 21 horizontal stripes. These days, designers take more liberties. However, the timeless look still defines the garment today and is perfect for minimalists who want to integrate more patterns into their looks.
Form-fitting fits
Sweaters often have a wide cut and are knitted out of thick materials. However, there are also fine, figure-hugging styles that go particularly well with wide pants, as they create a visual balance. Cuts with a roll-neck or turtleneck look beautifully elegant. Merino wool sweaters are great at keeping you warm and stretchy viscose fit the body like a second skin. Ideal for layering!
Wide sleeves
Basics with a twist are the basic building blocks for a timeless, elegant wardrobe. When it comes to sweaters, I recommend plain-coloured styles with wide sleeves. They add a touch of glamour to your look without being too pushy. Whites, beiges, black or greys are particularly straightforward. However, colourful models are easier to combine than you might think. Pink, for example, goes well with various shades of denim and neutrals as well as with shades of blue, green and red.
Strong colours
Want to attract attention without sporting a loud pattern? Try bold colours such as royal blue and red or bright shades like fuchsia and neon orange. Especially in gloomier months, when vitamin D deficiency sets in, we can all do with a mood booster.
