What’s in my shopping basket this week? Everything you need to create the colourful Harry Styles look.
He was once a boy band member who sported skinny jeans, crazy hair and a mischievous smile – and didn’t interest me one bit. The music wasn’t up my street and neither was he, given his tender age. Who am I talking about? Harry Styles. Discovered on the British edition of «The X Factor» in 2010, he went on to break countless hearts and records as a member of One Direction. Somewhere along the way, one of the five band members left the band. In 2016, the remaining four also threw in their sweaty towel. Time for a break. For an indefinite period. Raise the curtain on Harry’s solo career! Hallelujah.
2017 marks the release of his first album with the original title «Harry Styles». Meanwhile, the singer is 23, has swapped his skinny jeans for wildly patterned suits and lapel blouses. His hair’s a bit shorter and his smile all-knowing – I’m obsessed. From that point forward, with my speakers turned up and eyes aglow, I watch Harry evolve into a Gucci muse with a penchant for see-through blouses, sheep sweaters and feather boas. He wears pearl necklaces, nail varnish and occasionally nothing at all under his glitter vest.

Two years later, the album «Harry Styles» is followed by «Fine Line», various film roles and, in 2021, his own beauty brand Pleasing. It’s official: I’m a fan. And I’m in love. With his style. His stage outfits are bold, spectacular and fun, that’s for sure. But what I like most is what my Insta algorithm keeps flushing into my feed: paparazzi pics of the now 28-year-old. There’s no getting away from his cool printed shirts, ripped jeans, casual cloth pants, crocheted bucket hats and 70s sunglasses. I can’t get enough.

No other person is pinned to my inspiration board as often as Harry. And I’ve rarely looked forward to something as much as «Harry's House», Styles’ third solo album, released on 20 May. Have you heard it yet? I highly recommend it – just like these seven items to get the Harry look.
