Copy Paste: pinstripes, the pattern for minimalists

Pinstripes are often labelled as conservative. However, they’re currently experiencing a fashion revival. And rightly so, as this look proves.
Pinstripes are an undisputed classic. And yet, the simple pattern couldn’t shake its stuffy image for a long time. Probably because the fine long stripes were originally used mainly in formal attire such as blazers and cloth trousers. With tailoring and power dressing becoming increasingly popular, pinstripes are now experiencing a revival. In the collections for the current as well as the upcoming season they were seen at brands like Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Celine or Dries van Noten.
Today, the fine lines are used in various garments – from coats to blouses and mini skirts. As they’re associated with business wear, they still give off a certain elegance and seriousness. Pinstripes look a lot calmer than traditional stripes, which makes them perfect for people who prefer sporting a minimalist style. Stylist and influencer Vladislava shows us a modern take on pinstripes.

The key piece of her outfit is the long oversized coat with pinstripes. She combines this with a matching mini skirt. If you find that over-matched, you can go for a plain black model instead. A loose-fitting long-sleeve shirt provides a casual contrast to the formal stripes. Another exciting element is the transparent knee socks combined with classic pumps. A slightly warmer option could be knee-high boots or overknees and sheer stockings in your skin colour. All that’s missing is a no-frills black bag that stays true to the clean look, as well as large silver creole earrings and bright glasses for that cool-girl look.
