Battery maintenance: Lithium-ion batteries require a different method of charging and discharging. This is managed by the integrated electronics within the battery. This electronics can prevent damage to the battery from over-discharge, overcharging, overheating, or short circuits. The battery itself is equipped with very high-quality cells. To ensure a long and reliable lifespan, the battery should never be stored in a fully discharged state. It is also not advisable to store it fully charged. During the off-season, when it is being stored, it should be charged to about 40 - 50%. Never store a fully discharged battery for an extended period.
