Why Halloween is better than other holidays

«Halloween? It’s not really a holiday!» But it’s the best. I’ll tell you why here.
Children ringing the doorbell, spooky costumes and a deathly atmosphere: Halloween and its customs are rather overlooked, especially among conservative folk. But it has a lot more to offer than Easter or Christmas – in my opinion. Why? I can summarise the answer in five points.
Anything goes
There are many ways to celebrate Halloween. It doesn’t matter whether you’re giving sweets to kids, going to a party, hosting a horror movie night with friends – or barricading yourself at home and sleeping. It’s up to you. There’s something for (almost) everyone.
You have a legitimate reason to scare children
Finally! If they’re already ringing the bell and begging for sweets, I think you can allow yourself a little fun. The creepy contact lenses in our shop are a great idea:
All black everything
- Black is elegant, goes with everything and makes an impression. Halloween is a perfect occasion to indulge your love of black and put on some gloomy makeup for once. Maybe you feel like smokey eyes. Or dark puckered lips. If you fill them with lip liner instead of lipstick, they won’t smudge either.
No need for a banquet, there’s pumpkin
For a lazybones like me, it takes a load off my mind: Halloween doesn’t require big preparations. Instead, the meal plan is simple. Take a pumpkin – and just make anything out of it. Soup, roasted veggies or cake, the choice is yours. And if you can’t bring yourself to do that either, just leave the darn pumpkin. It’s a decoration after all.
Witches, ghosts and zombies take over towns
The fact that people dress up to drive away the wandering souls of the dead, according to the original custom, naturally brings with it unexpected styling possibilities. It’s a pleasant change from the typical spruce-up at Christmas or Easter. If you don’t feel like dressing up, you could also just give your phone a Halloween makeover.
With that I wish you, a Happy Halloween!
