Pia’s Picks: artful lines that aren’t overbearing
I like many things, but my apartment can’t fit them all. So, many products end up in my watch list instead of my shopping cart. Here’s a few of them in case you’re looking to be inspired. This week, it's things that artfully play with lines.
Making objects special by drawing lines – it sounds so simple, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. So I’m currently all the more enamoured with items from Nordic brands, for example, such as HK Living from Holland and Bloomingville from Denmark. Some of the lines look like they were drawn with a pencil, others like they were painted in sweeping strokes with a brush.
Either way, I like the fact that line art leaves so much room for creativity. It’s like what you find in exhibitions in museums of modern art. You can interpret the lines however you want. Most of the strokes, circles and dots are reminiscent of line drawings by masters like Matisse or Picasso. Only that we’re not working on paper here. Instead, the designs are found on cotton and polyester fabrics. Whatever you may interpret into them, the designs are anything but straight and will spice up any interior.
«Pia’s Picks» will be back next week! Tune in for more items from my watch list that you can use to spruce up your home.
