Lekker The Company Body Wash Refill – Eucalyptus, 330 ml
330 ml

A shower gel that you can refill is nothing new. However, the refill concept from the brand Lekker features an exciting twist – literally.
No, this is not an energy drink. Even if the label «Lekker» might suggest otherwise. The turquoise can contains a liquid body wash and is part of a refill system that I have never seen before. Out of curiosity, I am temporarily swapping my hard-working bar of soap for this starter set from the Dutch personal care brand The Lekker Company.

Included in the delivery:
I assemble the five parts I find in the cardboard box in just a few simple steps. Following the instructions on the cardboard packaging: I place the can into the bottom half of the bottle body with the gear symbol facing upwards.

Then I slide the counterpart over it and screw it tight until a pop sound is heard! This is the sign that the mechanism below the bottle neck has opened the can.

Finally, I insert the tube with the slanted side first into the pump head (precise instructions for this are missing, so I just tinkered with it and figured out which way is up and down) and screw the whole thing tight onto the opening at the top. The shower gel dispenser is now ready for use.
By the way, I give the color combination a 10 out of 10. The dark teal with the pink pump head as an accent? I like it. The refill can is made of recycled aluminum, the bottle itself of recycled plastic. The pump, however, is not (yet!).

With 330 milliliters, there is significantly more in the can than in a standard bottle of shower gel (250 ml). The formula is on the more liquid side. As a result, it shoots out of the opening with more force than I am used to. But I can adjust to that. In my case, one and a half pumps are enough to soap myself up completely from head to toe. It just requires a lot of finesse to get that half dose. For the sake of simplicity, I therefore take two full pumps.
The eucalyptus shower gel smells intense and strongly reminds me of tea tree oil, which I know from piercing care. Not my favorite scent, but I definitely associate good memories with it. Currently, this is the only variety that Lekker has in its range. Caution is advised for sensitive skin, as the essential oils it contains can trigger allergic reactions.

The product is vegan, cruelty-free, free of microplastics, and carries the B-Corp sustainability seal. Although Lekker states that it only uses ingredients of natural origin, the brand is not certified as natural cosmetics.
As soon as the body wash is empty, I can simply recycle the aluminum can and replace it with a new one.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
