My May beauty favourites

At Galaxus you’ll find over 80,000 beauty products. And counting. That’s quite a lot. Each month, I share my favourites from this pool of new launches and established classics.

From magic face wash to marshmallows from the pump dispenser: in May, the focus of my beauty favourites is on the face. Here are three products that have won me over this month.

Magic Bar by Nivea

When it comes to face care, Nivea isn’t usually my first choice. However, the new «Magic Bar – Sensitive», a solid facial cleanser, has changed my mind. I use it to wash the tiredness from my face in the morning. The fragrance-free product with grape seed oil looks like a small hand soap, but is formulated soap-free and cleanses the skin without drying it out. In addition, it’s vegan, Ecocert-certified as natural cosmetics and the plastic-free packaging is fully recyclable.

The Marsh Mellow Smoothing Primer by NYX

Primers are not a must, in my opinion. Still, every now and then there are products that cause me to incorporate that extra step into my make-up routine. Such as the «Marsh Mellow Primer» by NYX. The silicone-free base is lightly scented, contains marshmallow root extract and provides a smooth and soft skin feel, making it particularly easy to blend the foundation over it. According to the manufacturer, the product helps make-up last up to 16 hours. I wouldn’t go that far, but even I noticed the longevity has been extended by two or three hours.

Brighten Up! Banana Powder by Essence

Good powders don’t have to be expensive. I’ve been using the «Brighten Up!» Banana Powder by drugstore brand Essence almost daily for two years. The finely ground powder is ideal for setting concealer and visually brightening the area under the eyes. It also refines the pores, giving the skin a filter effect. My advice: I apply the product sparingly with dabbing movements and an eyeshadow brush. Not only under the eyes, but also where I have the largest pores. So between the eyebrows, around the nostrils and on the chin.

Whats’s very disappointing: Essence only offers the product in one shade. This isn’t the full potential, is it?

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
