Best of beauty: my February favourites

At Galaxus, you’ll find over 80,000 beauty products. And counting. That’s quite a lot. Each month, I share my favourites from this pool of new launches and established classics.

Face & Body Powder-No-Powder by Dior

Yes, the name is confusing – a powder that’s not a powder. Or at least a powder that makes it seem like you're not wearing powder. The «Face & Body Powder-No-Powder» from the Dior Backstage line is a slimly packaged, fine, pressed powder with a nearly transparent finish. So, while you can’t expect any coverage, it’s hardly noticeable if you pick the wrong shade. I use the luxury product in my makeup routine as the final step – a finishing powder to give my skin a subtle glow. But you can also use it as a light setting powder to set your foundation or concealer. How do I apply it? With my next February favourite.

You’ll find more shades here.

Power Pocket Puff from Beautyblender

Beautyblender has given grandma’s good ol' powder puff a makeover. The result: the Power Pocket Puff. This teardrop-shaped, double-ended make-up tool offers an alternative to the standard brush. Slip it over your index and middle fingers, and you’re good to go. The beige rubbery side is suitable for touch-ups. The pink side is covered in ultra-fine fibres that make it easier for you to load up the face powder and really press it into the skin. This application technique makes the foundation or concealer blend better with the powder and last longer. For me, it’s a game changer.

Eyeshadow palette by Catrice x Jenny

Drugstore eyeshadows are often so weakly pigmented that you can barely make out the colours after blending. The «Catrice x Jenny» eyeshadow palette proves that this doesn’t have to be. It was created in collaboration with makeup artist and influencer Jennifer Czeczor.

From the packaging – a frosted glass look with gold details – down to the colour selection and performance, it’s a really well-done palette. A mix of five warm and cool earthy shades are perfect for elegant looks, the duo chrome shade Offshore can be used to add an offbeat accent. The latter switches between a brownish old pink and mint green, depending on how the light hits it. The champagne colour Selini can also be used as a highlighter.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
