Galaxus Finds: cute, but practical!
Some purchases provide real added value. Because they look good. Because they’re practical. Ideally, both. My Galaxus finds are just that.
For a rustic, farmhouse vibe on your dresser
Once you’ve seen the cow pat, there’s no turning back. Not that I want to go back. Ever since my brain made that connection, I’ve grown to love the uniquely curved Lakey tray from Bloomingville even more. It’s okay, I don’t get it either.

And yes, this eye-catcher probably won’t appeal to most people. But that speckled «blob» on my dresser always makes me smile. The curved shape doesn’t offer a lot of storage space, but it’s definitely enough for some jewellery, perfume and hand cream.
The reading aid I’ve been missing
Good neck support is half the battle when reading. Especially if, like me, you prefer to get lost in your bulky books while lying down. The reading pillows from Plückefinken look harder than they actually are. The padding sits perfectly in the hollow along my neck and my head’s supported at the sides by the protruding ends.

I have two of them in constant use at home. One’s on the sofa, and one’s in my bedroom. If I want to sit more upright, I put the cushion on top of a regular pillow. At night, the cushion sometimes serves as a substitute for a cuddly toy.
The same models shown in the photo are no longer in our current range. Here are a few alternatives:
Front or back? It doesn’t matter, I have a rotating tray
I’m small. It’s hard for me to reach shelves. To reach the oil bottles or spices in the back, on lazy days (which are frequent), I’ve resorted to standing on my tiptoes, contorting my body and performing breakneck acrobatics.
With the rotating tray from Relaxdays, I’m now taking the safe route. With just one simple motion, I can spin round whatever’s in the back to the front. The tray’s non-slip and has an edge, so nothing flies off when it spins. Thanks to the acrylic, I have a clear view of the food, and with two insert panels, the tray can even be divided into four sections if needed.

A platform for my monitor
Hübsch’s Billy is pretty. Practical, too. And yet I’d originally bought this beige terrazzo stand just to add a little variety to my product photography. As a backdrop, essentially. Today it sits on my desk and acts as a stand for my monitor. By adding a few magazines on top, I manage to make it even higher.

For more storage space in the shower
Scene of the crime? The shower cubicle. Tetris in a metal basket? I’m over it. But something has to change. After all, the space for my shampoos and cleansing products is limited. As is my patience. And imagine something falling through the metal bars and into the tub. Or even worse: on my foot! In the past, that «something» was usually my razor.

I put an end to my suffering with the help of a razor holder. Supposedly. A plastic model with a suction cup turned out to be a disappointment. It only holds lightweight items like disposable razors. Heavier models with an interchangeable head still fall out. Only with these, the entire mount falls too. So my second attempt came in the form of a self-adhesive, waterproof stainless steel mount from Tesa. Bull’s-eye! The adhesive hook is rust-proof and super easy to attach to tiles. No drilling required. It works a treat and has made my life a thousand times easier.
By the way, here are the latest Galaxus Finds from my colleague Pia Seidel:
As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
