Preliminary work: Light-coloured ferrous metals: Sand very smooth surfaces. Remove sanding dust. Clean the surface very carefully with Hammerite metal cleaner. Rusted ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush. Clean the surface with Hammerite metal cleaner. Cast iron: Remove loose particles, sand and clean with Hammerite metal cleaner. Apply 1 x Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter. Tip: The hammer effect is best achieved if the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing time for the effect to develop. Repeated reworking or spreading of the paint can lead to a reduced hammer effect. Hammer effect paints can only be reworked with hammer effect paints. Adhesion or surface defects may occur with other systems.
