Rust protection paint for all uncoated, rusted, or old painted ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals after appropriate pre-treatment, such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony railings, window grilles, lamps, bicycles, trellises, etc.

Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting vehicles, heated surfaces (such as grill grates, oven pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems, etc.), surfaces exposed to high mechanical stress (such as floors, lifts, vehicle undercarriages, etc.), powder-coated objects, or components with permanent underwater contact (such as pool ladders, in the boating area, dishwasher baskets, aquariums, etc.).

Preparation:
Uncoated ferrous metals: Sand down very smooth surfaces. Remove sanding dust. Clean the surface very carefully with Hammerite Metal Cleaner.

Rusted ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush. Clean the surface with Hammerite Metal Cleaner.

Cast iron: Remove loose particles, sand, and clean with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Apply a coat of Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter.

Tip: The hammer effect is best achieved when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing enough time for the effect to develop. Repeated touch-ups or spreading of the paint may result in a less pronounced hammer effect. Hammer finish paints can only be touched up with hammer finish paints. Other systems may lead to adhesion or surface defects.
