Product details
Rust protecting paint for all bare, rusted or old painted ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals after appropriate pre-treatment (see below), such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony railings, window grilles, lamps, bicycles, trellis etc. Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting motor vehicles, tempered surfaces (such as barbecue equipment, oven pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems etc.), surfaces subject to high mechanical stress (such as floors, lifting platforms, car underbodies etc.), powder-coated objects or components with permanent underwater contact (such as swimming pool ladders, in the boat area, baskets for dishwashers, aquariums etc.). Preliminary work: Bare ferrous metals: Grind very smooth surfaces. Remove grinding dust. Clean surface very carefully with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Rusty ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush. Clean surface with Hammerite metal cleaner. Cast iron: Remove any loose particles, abrade and clean with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Apply 1 x Hammerite Rust Blocker (as adhesion promoter). Tip: The hammering effect is best achieved when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly and then has time to develop the effect. Repeated reworking/spreading of the varnish can lead to a reduced hammer effect. Hammerblow varnishes can only be reworked with hammerblow varnishes. With other systems, adhesion or surface defects may occur.
