Hammerite Metall-Schutzlack Hammerschlag

Anti-rust paint for all uncoated, rusted or previously painted ferrous and non-ferrous metals, following appropriate pre-treatment. Suitable for garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony handrails, window grilles, lamps, bicycles, trellises and more. Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting motor vehicles, hot surfaces (such as barbecue grills, oven pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems), surfaces exposed to high mechanical stress (such as floors, lifting platforms, vehicle undercarriages), powder-coated objects or components subject to permanent underwater contact (such as swimming pool ladders, boat fittings, dishwasher baskets, aquariums). Preparation: Uncoated ferrous metals: Sand very smooth surfaces, remove sanding dust and clean the surface thoroughly with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Rusty ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush and clean the surface with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Cast iron: Remove loose particles, sand and clean with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Apply one coat of Hammerite Rust Blocker as a primer. Tip: The best hammered finish is achieved by applying the paint quickly and not too thinly, to allow time for the effect to develop. Repeated touch-ups or smoothing out the paint can result in a less pronounced hammered effect. Hammered-effect paints can only be touched up with other hammered-effect paints; using other systems may lead to adhesion or surface defects.
