Hammerite Metal protective lacquer hammer finish

Rust protection coating for all uncoated, rusted, or previously painted ferrous and non-ferrous metals after appropriate pretreatment. Suitable for items such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony railings, window grilles, lamps, bicycles, trellises, and more.

Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting vehicles, heated surfaces (such as grill pipes, oven pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems), surfaces exposed to heavy mechanical stress (such as floors, lifts, vehicle undersides), powder-coated objects, or components with permanent underwater contact.

Preparation:
Untreated ferrous metals: Sand very smooth surfaces, remove sanding dust, and carefully clean the surface with Hammerite Metal Cleaner.

Rusty ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush and clean the surface with Hammerite Metal Cleaner.

Cast iron: Remove loose particles, sand, and clean with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Apply a layer of Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter.

Tip: The hammer effect develops best when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing time for the effect to develop. Repeated touch-ups or spreading of the paint can lead to a reduced degree of the hammer effect. Hammer finish paints can only be touched up with hammer finish paints; using other systems may lead to adhesion or surface defects.
