Product details
Rust protection paint for all uncoated, rusted, or previously painted ferrous and non-ferrous metals after appropriate pre-treatment, such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony railings, window grills, lamps, bicycles, trellises, etc.
Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting vehicles, heat-treated surfaces, surfaces with high mechanical stress, powder-coated objects, or components with permanent underwater contact.
Preparation:
Uncoated ferrous metals: Sand very smooth surfaces. Remove sanding dust. Clean the surface very thoroughly with Hammerite Metal Cleaner.
Rusted ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush. Clean the surface with Hammerite Metal Cleaner.
Cast iron: Remove loose particles, sand, and clean with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Apply a layer of Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter.
Tip: The hammer effect is best achieved when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing time for the effect to develop. Repeated touch-ups or brushing of the paint can result in a less pronounced hammer effect. Hammerite paints can only be touched up with Hammerite paints. Using other systems may lead to adhesion or surface defects.
