Product details
Rust protection paint for all uncoated, rusted or old painted ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals after appropriate pre-treatment. Suitable for objects such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony handrails, window grilles, lamps, bicycles and trellises. Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting motor vehicles, tempered surfaces (such as grill pipes, stove pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems), surfaces that are exposed to high mechanical loads (such as floors, lifting platforms, vehicle tyres, etc.).(such as gusts, lifting platforms, vehicle substructures), powder-coated objects or components with permanent underwater contact (such as swimming pool ladders, boats, baskets for dishwashers, aquariums). Preliminary work: Uncoated ferrous metals: Sand very smooth surfaces, remove sanding dust and clean the surface thoroughly with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Rusted ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush and clean the surface with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Cast iron: Remove loose particles, sand and clean with Hammerite Metal Cleaner. Apply a coat of Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter. Tip: The hammered effect is best achieved if the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly to allow time for the effect to develop. Repeated reworking or spreading of the paint can lead to a less pronounced hammer effect. Hammerstoss paints can only be reworked with Hammerstoss paints; the use of other systems can lead to adhesion or surface defects.
