Product details
Rust protecting paint for all bare, rusted, or old painted ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals after appropriate pre-treatment, such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony railings, window grilles, lamps, bicycles, trellis, etc.
Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting motor vehicles, tempered surfaces (such as grills, oven pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems, etc.), surfaces subject to high mechanical stress (such as floors, lifting platforms, car underbodies, etc.), powder-coated objects, or components with permanent underwater contact (such as ladders of swimming pools, in the boat area, baskets for dishwashers, aquariums, etc.).
Preliminary work:
Bare ferrous metals: Grind very smooth surfaces. Remove grinding dust. Clean surface very carefully with Hammerite metal cleaner.
Rusty ferrous metals: Remove loose particles with a wire brush. Clean surface with Hammerite metal cleaner.
Cast iron: Remove any loose particles, grind, and clean with Hammerite metal cleaner. Apply 1 x Hammerite rust blocker as an adhesion promoter.
Tip: The hammer blow effect is best achieved when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing time to develop the effect. Repeated reworking or spreading of the varnish can lead to the hammer effect being less pronounced. Hammerblow varnishes can only be reworked with hammerblow varnishes. With other systems, adhesion or surface defects may occur.
