Product details
Rust protecting paint for all bare, rusted, or old painted ferrous metals and non-ferrous metals after appropriate pre-treatment. Suitable for items such as garden fences, garden furniture, stair and balcony railings, window grilles, lamps, bicycles, and trellises.
Hammerite paints are generally not suitable for painting motor vehicles, tempered surfaces (such as grills, oven pipes, brake calipers, engines, exhaust systems), surfaces subject to high mechanical stress (such as floors, lifting platforms, car underbodies), powder-coated objects, or components with permanent underwater contact (such as ladders of swimming pools, in the boat area, baskets for dishwashers, aquariums).
Preliminary work:
For bare ferrous metals, grind very smooth surfaces, remove grinding dust, and clean the surface carefully with Hammerite metal cleaner.
For rusty ferrous metals, remove loose particles with a wire brush and clean the surface with Hammerite metal cleaner.
For cast iron, remove any loose particles, grind, and clean with Hammerite metal cleaner. Apply one coat of Hammerite Rust Blocker as an adhesion promoter.
Tip: The hammer blow effect is best achieved when the paint is applied quickly and not too thinly, allowing time for the effect to develop. Repeated reworking or spreading of the varnish can lessen the hammer effect. Hammerblow varnishes can only be reworked with hammerblow varnishes; using other systems may lead to adhesion or surface defects.
