Product details
Self-fusing rubber tape that prevents partial discharges on pointed or sharp-edged profiles. It is permanently elastic and weather-resistant. The Scotch Self-Fusing Ethylene-Propylene Rubber Tape 13 is a semiconductive tape made from black synthetic rubber. At 80 to 100 percent elongation, the individual layers fuse into a homogeneous wrap without air inclusions. It is designed to prevent partial discharges on irregular profiles such as points and edges. However, it is unsuitable for mass cables. It comes with a liner that can be easily removed during application. The permanently elastic rubber tape is resistant to moisture, solvents, and UV radiation, but not to oil. Additionally, it is compatible with all cable sheath materials. The 0.76 millimeter thick tape is self-extinguishing and has a maximum temperature of 90 °C and a short-term temperature of 130 °C.
