J77 J-Series Chair – Simplicity in its most classic form

Inspired by the classic Windsor chair, Folke Pålsson designed the J77 chair, which features a slatted backrest and tapered legs, just like its predecessor. However, he simplified the classic design of the Windsor chair, reducing the J-Series design to its essentials. What remains are the characteristically shaped backrest and the wide seat, which always ensures high seating comfort.

Folke Pålsson – Member of the FDB design collective

Danish designer Folke Pålsson was part of the FDB design collective alongside Børge Mogensen, whose influence on Scandinavian design is still felt today. The design of the J77 brought Pålsson international fame in the 1960s – Hay has been producing this classic chair in a new edition since 2011. Even more than 50 years later, the chairs of the J-Series have not lost their charm and continue to delight with their elegant minimalism.
