Furnishing a small flat is like tinkering with a clock: everything has to fit perfectly and be well thought out for it to work. Clever furniture that makes the best use of every inch of space is crucial.

Not everyone has the same amount of space to live in, but that can definitely be an advantage: you can achieve maximum quality of life in a limited space. While tiny homes offer innovative solutions, multifunctional furniture and accessories also save space in conventional flats.

These two-in-one designs help you make the most of your space without sacrificing comfort or aesthetics.

2. Shelf and toilet paper holder

The Carry metal toilet paper holder has an integrated shelf for frippery such as reed diffusers or essentials such as your phone. It’s available in grey or black.

3. Lantern and vase

Bring a splash of colour into your home with Tota glass lanterns. They’re perfect for creating warmth and coziness with candles on cold winter days. But that’s not all – they’re also great as pots for cacti and succulents or as vases. They come in plenty of cool colours.

4. Lamp and container

Ideal for rooms where every centimetre counts, the metal Laurel lamp gives out warm light and has a small but elegant container built in. You’ll be able to keep everything you need close at hand while saving floor and shelf space.

5. Stool and table

Not quite as versatile as a Swiss Army knife, but pretty close – the Tap stool from Normann Copenhagen impresses with its three legs and a round, comfortable seat made of dirt-repellent foam. It’s super stable and easy to stack. It’s available in a wide range of different colours and materials.

6. Coffee table and newspaper rack

With an integrated compartment, the stylish Cher by Bloomingville offers storage space for magazines, books and throws. Whether it’s in your living room, bedroom or office – this metal table keeps everything in its place and gives every room a stylish touch.

7. Desk and wall shelf

If there’s no chair at the Tana wooden desk, it can easily be used as a shelf. Its simple design has no handles or visible mountings. A nice detail: there’s a narrow drawer under the tabletop.

9. Mirror and jewellery box

Chaos begone! The pretty Gutta metal jewellery box from Aytm brings order to your accessories. Three different-sized compartments offer space for necklaces, bracelets and watches to keep everything in its place. And the best part: the lid turns into a practical mirror.
