Minimalists need to step away for a moment. Because sometimes two products are better than one. This is the case when they reinforce each other. My latest discovery: a combination of concealers to combat dark circles.

I've combined two of my beauty products and they're now inseparable: the Bare With Me concealer serum from NYX and the multi-use instant anti-ageing effect concealer from Maybelline. The latter specifically in the colour "05 illuminator". I'll explain in a few lines why this is important. Both work great on their own, but as a team, they're unbeatable.

NYX's concealer has a light texture that barely builds up in the fine lines under the eyes. Only, some days, the coverage of my favourite concealer just isn't enough for me anymore. That's where Maybelline's illuminator comes in. Although it also has the word 'concealer' in its name, it works more like a brightening concealer due to its pale peachy pink colour. This means it neutralises bluish dark circles. Texture-wise, it's a little thicker than the concealer serum

Here's how to do it: apply a small layer of NYX concealer to the back of your hand. Then add a little illuminator, blend with your finger, dab the mixture under the eyes and blend with a brush. Depending on the size of your dark circles, you can apply more or less concealer. Some women prefer to wear it under their concealer. By mixing, I find there's less product on the face, which personally suits me better.

Important: this specific combination works ideally for my skin tone and needs. You can also apply the basic mixing principle with your personal favourite concealer shade and a concealer to suit your skin tone.

A perfect match.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
