Looking for a good concealer is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Especially if you expect a lot from your cover-up. With this in mind, here’s a concealer that ticks all my boxes – and even racks up a few bonus points.
I have a certain way of dividing brands in my mind. Young, trendy ones go in one pile, while dusty ones whose products are left waiting on old, cardboard pharmacy displays until they can be flogged to unsuspecting customers go in the other. Despite never having used any of its products, I’d pegged Erborian as the latter. As it turned out, I was a little hasty with my judgement.
Last year, Erborian underwent a major social media image boost. Beauty buffs were raving about its CC product range designed to combat redness. My own scepticism, on the other hand, refused to budge. Until Erborian launched its new Super BB Concealer, that is. The company gave me a sample to test, and I now begrudgingly admit that I’ve joined its swarm of adoring fans.
My new favourite concealer shows me what it’s made of
In this product, Erborian has combined aspects of skincare with make-up. The tube with its doe-foot applicator contains five per cent niacinamide to reduce dark circles and pimple marks, ginseng extract to moisturise the skin and mineral UV protection with SPF 25. This isn’t exactly earth-shattering, but I always welcome a little extra protection on top of my normal sunscreen. The concealer comes in five different shades.
The Super BB Concealer is the first Erborian product I’ve tried and learned to love. And I doubt it’ll be the last. I’ve since moved the brand into my «cool» pile, where it’ll stay for the time being.
