This summer, you need red – and these three accent colours
Red’s loud, eye-catching – and far from easy to wear with other colours. Or is it? This season’s look is adding in unexpected pastel shades.
The shade of the summer? It’s the Campari in your ice-cold spritz, the ketchup on your crispy fries, the juicy tomato slices in your insalata caprese. In short, it’s all about red. And it doesn’t even want to be the centre of attention. It’d much rather be an eye-catching accent. For example, as a statement bag or shoes.
However, this season’s colour does have one requirement: bold combinations. Stay away from safe pairings such as black and white and opt for summery pastels, which are certainly no strangers to temporary hype.
Red with butter yellow

It’s been about a year since butter yellow captured everyone’s hearts out of nowhere. The delicate shade still belongs in the «trend colour» category – and provides an attractive yet subtle contrast to bright red.
Red with sky blue

Blue’s one of my favourite colours to combine with red accessories. The heavenly pastel version also has a bright future – the Worth Global Style Network has already predicted it’ll play an important role in 2026 as Blue Aura.
Red with pistachio green

Red and green are complementary colours, directly opposite each other on the colour wheel. That’s far too much distance, as this look by stylist Marianne Smyth demonstrates. Things that flatter each other so much belong close together.
Always in the mood for good hits, great trips and clinking drinks.
