The first Dove perfume is here!
Dove has it: the perfect "I am clean and fresh" scent. The original is in their beauty bar, their cream, their deodorants – and now also in a perfume. A wet dream comes true.
It has been 69 years since the brand Dove launched its original Beauty Cream Bar. The white solid cleansing bar (chemically speaking, it is not a soap!) consists of one-quarter moisturizing cream, gently cleanses the skin in the shower, and has an astonishingly large fanbase. I am one of them.
The thing does what it promises. But I would argue that its popularity is due to another characteristic: its unmistakably fresh scent. I even dedicated an article to it once.
I would like to quote myself at this point: «The scent is described as pure, clean, and powdery with a floral note. In the base, woody with amber and powdery musk. In the heart, rose, ylang-ylang, and jasmine. The top note is fruity with cloves and geranium.»
The community wanted it this way
«Thousands of comments from you inspired what’s coming next», writes the personal care brand Dove in its Instagram caption, launching its first-ever perfume to match the Beauty Bar. In doing so, it fulfills a long-held wish of its customers that was repeatedly expressed in the comment section. A few of these community voices were selected to be the first to sniff Dove's creation. This was, of course, captured for the media on social media.

So, we now have the Dove Original Beauty Cream Bar in a spray. At least, I hope so. How close the scent comes to the original remains to be seen. It is scheduled to be released today, October 27, for a limited time.
Whether it will also be available at Galaxus is not yet clear. Therefore, I will end this post with an alternative recommendation from my editorial colleague Simon Balissat: «Check out 'Ghost In The Shell' by Etat Libre D'Orange. That is basically already Dove as a perfume and I love it!»
As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
From the latest iPhone to the return of 80s fashion. The editorial team will help you make sense of it all.
