This is what Barbie smells like (in my opinion)

Have you ever wondered what Barbie smells like? I came across a fragrance in my perfume collection that’s absolutely Barbielicious.
In collaboration with DefineMe Creative Studio, Mattel have launched a Barbie Parfume. As part of the Barbie franchise, fast fashion company Zara also followed suit. And I admit, I feel the need to contribute. If not plastic, what does Barbie smell like? Whilst Zara’s interpretation of the toy icon is an orange and neroli perfume, the composition from DefineMe Creative Studios is based on fruity top notes like pomelo, strawberry nectar, red cherries and dragon fruit. But I believe the Barbie magic comes from within, and she smells how you would like her to.
The other day, as I was getting ready to go to the cinema for a second viewing, I instinctively reached for a very specific perfume and realised: wait, I already own a Barbie fragrance. At least, it perfectly fits into the whole Barbie hysteria that I’ve fallen victim too (I’m not complaining). It’s Burberrys «Her», the Elixir edition (a stronger version of the Eau de Parfum).

The bottle is reminiscent of a hip flask and is minimalist and monochrome in a blush pink. However the scent is harder to put into words. I’ll try anyway. Imagine you’re rich but not so rich that it’s gone to your head. You always go for a sweet, creamy strawberry milkshake instead of an expensive glass of champagne. You’re playful yet mature, loud and quiet at the same time, stand out without putting yourself out there, and could be happy in a country house or a Manhattan apartment. In short – you can be anything.
Her Elixir de Parfum for women offers signature fruity gourmand notes alongside a daring burst of dark red berries with jasmine, rounded with sensual and addictive vanilla and amber.
Dare I say, this intense fragrance is going to be one of my favourite perfumes. Careful, less is definitely more. Just 3 sprays will get you through the day.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
