A bottle full of cuddles: Cashmere Kumquat by Korres

I don’t know what kumquats taste like. But thanks to Korres’ eau de toilette I’m quite fond of the little oranges. A cosy fragrance for you. For him. For everyone.

Cashmere Kumquat is the name of my latest obsession. An eau de toilette from the Greek brand Korres. One that I don’t wear, but my boyfriend does. I actually bought the bottle for myself. I liked the smell. A lot. Just not on me. So I drenched my boyfriend in it. Fortunately, he took a liking to it so it’s a win-win. Now he has a new eau de toilette that puts his outdated aquatic scents to shame, and I can sniff him with a big grin on my face.

Korres Cashmere Kumquat Eau de Toilette

Eau de toilette, 50 ml

On Korres’ website, Cashmere Kumquat is listed as a fragrance for her. But, in my opinion, it’d be excellent to market a creation like this as unisex. It’s perfect for sharing.

What Cashmere Kumquat smells like

Imagine you’re snuggling up to your favourite person. They’re wearing a really soft cashmere jumper you want to bury your face in. It’s snowing outside and a roaring fire is crackling in front of you. The sheepskin on the sofa feels soft... Don’t worry, it’s fake fur and I’m just using it to create that mountain hut feeling. You feel warm and safe. The romantic scene I just conjured up for you was made possible thanks to the following fragrance components: top notes of kumquat, mandarin and orange. The heart notes consist of orange blossom, jasmine and almond. To compliment them cashmere, cedarwood and vanilla form the base.

A sophisticated, feminine fragrance composition that combines the sweet notes of kumquat with invigorating orange blossom, soft vanilla and smooth, delicate cashmere.

By the way: Although it’s an eau de toilette, I can still smell Cashmere Kumquat on my partner come evening, hours after applying it.

Plus points

Of course, it’s what’s inside that counts. But the exterior isn’t too bad either. The heavy amber-coloured bottle with its matte label is reminiscent of a modern reinterpretation of the traditional pharmacy bottle. Despite its minimalist design, it can easily keep up with the quality of high-priced niche fragrances too. The smooth cap is also worth mentioning: it still sits firmly on the spray nozzle even after being taken off and put back on several times. This is a detail that’s particularly important to me with perfume bottles and one which shouldn’t be taken for granted.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
