QR Invoice - Forms and scanner for your business
by Andreas Mielke
Away with red and orange! As of 1 October 2022, QR invoices will replace the payment slips we’ve used to date. Digitec Galaxus will introduce the new Swiss standard form of payment in the next two weeks. There’ll be a transitional period until the end of September, during which customers can use traditional payment slips to pay invoices that have been issued already.
Switzerland is digitising payment transactions. As of 1 October 2022, the red and orange payment slips won’t be valid anymore. They’ll be replaced by invoices with a QR code. Digitec Galaxus customers will be able to pay their invoices via QR code as early as the beginning of August. As before, you can choose to pay for your order via invoice, advance payment, credit card, TWINT or other payment methods.
Why a QR code?
The square pattern QR code contains all the information relevant to your payment. Scanning the code eliminates the need for entering bank details manually, meaning fewer errors occur.
Scan the QR code on your screen and pay automatically
We’ll continue to send the payment section of your order invoice via e-mail. The QR code contained in this e-mail can be scanned directly from your screen using a banking app, allowing you to pay the invoice. This means you don’t have to print it out.
Pay invoices via e-banking feature
There’s a button in the invoice e-mail leading directly to your Digitec or Galaxus account, where you can download your invoice as a PDF. If your bank has an e-banking feature, you can then upload or scan the PDF directly to your bank. It’s best to check with your bank whether they have this feature, and if they don’t, to ask how to upload the PDF.
Saved invoice templates
As of 1 October, the introduction of the QR invoice means you’ll no longer be able to use saved payment templates in e-banking. You’ll need to pay each invoice individually with the QR code.
I sniff out the best behind-the-scenes stories the Digitec Galaxus universe has to offer. Why? Because I'm fascinated by people and stories. In my other life, I act on all types of stages, sometimes even in graveyards. As a voice-over artist for commercials, I've dubbed a pumpkin and a cow to name but a few.
