How to furnish a shared room completely with Galaxus products

We have a huge range of furniture at Galaxus. Handy if you're a bit furniture-obsessed like me and need to furnish a room in a shared flat.

I love furniture. That's why I take the opportunity to completely rearrange everything every time I move. Yes, I know dear mummy, that's super unreasonable. Unreasonable, but absolutely necessary. I'm getting sick of the Ikea furniture. Interio and Pfister always have great things, but some of them are really expensive. A side table can easily cost 100 - 200 cent. For that price, you might expect furniture that could withstand a nuclear attack thanks to its robustness, or where at least the paint wouldn't crumble off. But that's not the case. It's simply a dog-eared table. It has legs, a top, looks nice and you can put things on it. You're unlikely to pass it on to your children. And that's a good thing. In my opinion, furniture is like clothes: you can wear some classics forever, while other pieces are replaced by new trends after a few years. That's why I like to buy furniture in the mid-price segment, which is of good quality but which you also have the confidence to replace after a few years.

Chillen

The sofa is an old, faithful model. You could always replace it. But I'm too lazy to do it. Because 2nd floor, no lift, neighbours who clutter up the stairwell with large shoe cupboards. I'm also too weak to carry the thing.

I'm most pleased about the chair. It's both a classic seat and a decorative element. Above all, however, it serves as "the chair", i.e. an alternative clothes rack. I'm sure you're familiar with this.
I have placed a lambskin over it. It goes wonderfully with the design of the chair and also makes my dog happy.

Bed

I generally find beds difficult. It shouldn't be boring, but it shouldn't be too dominant either. I prefer to set accents in other areas. I like the sleeping area to be rather plain.

I think my bed is great. Not only because you can sleep in it, but also because I didn't have to buy a slatted frame. That costs money too. I think that's totally stupid. A bed frame costs a lot of money and then the slatted frame costs another lot. That's why I'm trying to defend myself against slatted frame bondage. The slatted frame is already integrated into my bed. A slatted frame with legs, so to speak. Sounds stupid, but it looks good. Of course, this makes the bed rather hard, but not uncomfortable. If you like it a little softer, you can compensate for this with a topper.

To achieve the same look as in the product picture, we recommend buying the bed one frame size wider than the mattress. For a mattress of 1.40 m, order the bed in 1.60 m. Don't fall for this trick. The bed would take up quite a lot of space - but you still don't have any more room to sleep, as the mattress is small. So here's trick 77: don't place the bed freely in the room but against one or two walls. Then pull the frame 3-4 cm forwards and push the mattress right up against the wall. This way, you still have the frame effect and don't lose much space with 3-4 cm.

Dresses

I have a small built-in wardrobe in my room. However, I mainly use it to store office utensils, books and other odds and ends. There's only limited space for clothes. I find the simplest and most attractive solution is a clothes rail. The clothes are presented neatly and clearly and don't take up much space. In this model, the centre bar is strong enough. This is important because otherwise the bar can easily bend under the weight of the clothes. This has already happened to me with a clothes rack from Ikea. It just looks stupid and is totally annoying. Wardrobes, on the other hand, are just huge and take up an insane amount of space. I don't have room for that in my room.

Another clothes rack to store the half-dirty clothes. And, above all, to take some weight off the chair.

Déco

I'm not that much of a fan of bric-a-brac decorative stuff. But I do like a bit of decoration. Vases are always good and don't get in the way. I particularly like my candle. It smells like fresh washing. It really does. Not some artificial, funny smell. But really fresh laundry.

I don't have a bedside table. I just don't have the space. But I do have several lamps. Simply because I like lamps. I don't really need a bedside table just to put my phone on at night. A room doesn't have to be perfectly thought out. It just needs to suit you and your activities.

I love black humour, my small collection of jackets, Red Bull, furniture, lie-ins, British accents, dogs, laughing until I cry, Polaroid cameras, full ice-hockey stadiums and that moment when the red lamp lights up behind the right goal. Singing songs loudly and out of tune (and busting some matching moves) is also something I enjoy – as is strumming around on my guitar.
