Your collection at a glance: 9 magazine racks for every budget
by Pia Seidel
Classic magazine racks are, of course, designed to hold your favourite magazines, but there are other, more original ways of displaying them. Here are five creative ideas for storing your magazines and journals.
I have a nice collection of magazines (maybe even too many) and I don't want to hide them away. I want to turn them into decorative elements and integrate them properly into my interior. So I'm constantly looking for new ways to show them off. And recently, I've come across some new ideas in the catalogues of Scandinavian interior brands.
With a little imagination, a flower pot can also become a storage solution for newspapers. Provided it's square and raised like the "Awe" planter from Hübsch, which is certainly a planter, but you can also store magazines in it, as it has two compartments. So one can hold a plant, the other a stack of magazines.
Baskets are a decorative and versatile object. This hasn't escaped the notice of the Bloomingville brand, which uses its hanging baskets to display and store newspapers. This allows you to free up floor space and offers enough room to store several magazines.
Low tables can also be a great place to put your magazines. The "Merge" table, for example, has two compartments in which to store magazines. Each compartment is designed to hide some of its contents, but also to reveal others. This table is therefore ideal for highlighting certain covers and hiding others.
Shelves are ideal for showcasing objects and this also applies to magazines. Especially when the shelves are made from a noble material like marble. The "Menu" shelf in black marble combined with gold interior accessories puts your old magazines centre stage.
Like a cheerleader, I love celebrating good design and bringing you closer to everything furniture- and interior design- related. I regularly curate simple yet sophisticated interior ideas, report on trends and interview creative minds about their work.
Practical solutions for everyday problems with technology, household hacks and much more.
Show allDanish brand Oyoy simply transforms bookends into magazine holders. It arranges several solidly bound magazines - books, as it were - next to each other. The arrangement is then placed on another magazine, which acts as a base. Bookends support the magazines, give a tidy look and allow you to keep your favourite reading material close at hand, whether on a shelf or a coffee table. However, your magazines need to be hardcover bound, as softcover magazines would need taller stands to prevent them from falling off.
