I regularly share the niftiest designs in our range. This time, I’ll be taking a look at decorative wall accessories with built-in storage space.

This trick is an oldie, but a goodie: go for two-in-one solutions. Doing so often saves space and makes life easier. Even decorative wall accessories can be multifunctional. Just check out these examples made from a range of materials.

Decoration and shelf in one: designs made of wood

While plain wall shelves are decorated, multifunctional shelves serve as wall decor themselves and exude a sense of warmth. Despite their small size, they’re miracle workers when it comes to storing knick-knacks.

Plastic sculpture meets bookshelf

The more unusual the bookshelf, the more it can hold its own. Kartell’s shelves, for instance, kill two birds with one stone. Not only do they provide space for books, they also decorate the room as a result of their eccentric shapes and colours.

Beautiful mirror with built-in storage

Although social media would suggest otherwise, mirrors aren’t just for taking selfies. In fact, as this piece designed by Hübsch demonstrates, they’re also great for storing sunglasses or plant pots.

Chic wall lamps and hot-metal-look shelves

Although metal shelves look slightly cooler, you can use accessories such as plants, magazines or light to give them a more inviting look. However, this only works if you go for two-in-one designs like these.

Functional rattan wall artwork

Creatively designed wickerwork looks fabulous and breathes a touch of nature into your home. And if it provides you with a nice bit of storage space, it’s a win-win situation.
