In its latest collection, Jil Sander once again impresses with a combination of timeless elegance and playful details. This is how you can affordably recreate one of the key looks.

Every season, I look forward to Jil Sander with particular excitement. The Milan-based fashion house was founded in Hamburg at the end of the 1960s by Jil Sander, who was just 25 years old at the time. Her simple, timeless designs later earned her the nickname "Queen of Less". Since 2017, the creative management of the brand has been in the hands of the married couple Lucie and Luke Meier. The Swiss woman and the Canadian man with Swiss roots have succeeded in breathing new life into the brand with exciting cuts and playful details, without disregarding the minimalist, elegant essence of the fashion house.

One of the most memorable looks from the house's latest collection for spring/summer 2024 is also one of my favourite styling formulas for autumn: maxi or midi dress combined with knee-high boots.

The undisputed eye-catcher of the look is the shiny green-yellow dress with a high collar and voluminously gathered sleeves - costing around 3,000 francs. I stumbled across a similar piece in our range - costing just under 100 francs. A chartreuse-coloured bag and chunky silver jewellery complete the look. The catwalk model wears dark grey knee-high boots with a wide shaft and striking eyelet detail on the side. Very extravagant. As an alternative, I recommend pointed, red-brown boots. As red is the complementary colour to green, this creates an exciting but harmonious contrast.

The dresses are also comparable in terms of material and are both made primarily from semi-synthetic, cellulose-based fibres. The Jil Sander piece is made from 67 per cent viscose and 33 per cent cupro, while the Selected Femme piece is made from 85 per cent lyocell and 15 per cent polyester.

Has endless love for shoulder pads, Stratocasters and sashimi, but a limited tolerance for bad impressions of her Eastern Swiss dialect.
