Barrel jeans and dirty denim: these are the jeans trends for 2025
It might be the new year but jeans are here to stay. How will the most popular of all trousers reinvent itself in 2025? Well, this is how.
Since they first entered our world in 1873 as workers’ trousers, jeans have accompanied us in countless colours and shapes. From skinny to mom to baggy jeans, from moon- to acid- to stonewashed – no other item of clothing can keep up with this amount of versatility.
Even in the coming year, jeans aren’t holding back in their standard silhouette or taking on a boring look – on the contrary. 2025 will be the era of the bold and brave.
The cut
Barrel jeans
Last summer, barrel jeans were already making a name for themselves. Their casual, bulbous silhouette is here to stay for another year. But if you want to avoid them from drowning you, you can find my styling tips here.

Flares
Jeans flared from the knee down will experience a major revival in 2025. We have the current cowboy/country trend, jack-of-all-trades Pharrell Williams and his creative vision to thank for this. Flared pants currently play a major role in his designs for the menswear line of French fashion house Louis Vuitton (and in his own looks). A flared cut is perfect for anyone who likes to add a few extra centimetres with clever styling because it makes your legs look longer.

Jorts
... are basically denim shorts. But because the internet loves to morph terms into catchy buzzwords, we’ll be referring to them as «jorts» this year. As best demonstrated by the Bermuda style, these should be knee length.

Straight cut
Don’t worry, even if you don’t like experimenting with bold cuts, the new year has the perfect pair for you. They’re not too wide and not too tight, neither carrot-shaped nor bulbous, but very simple and straight. Sound boring? These are classic. Investing in this timeless silhouette will keep you satisfied for many years to come.
The aesthetics
Dirty denim
Yep, the name’s on the tin – jeans that somehow look dirty are now all the rage. It may seem absurd to buy a new pair of stained trousers, but ripped or torn jeans are also a thing. So before you demonise it, go with the flow and let the trend have its moment. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to join in.

Embellished jeans
One trend in direct contrast with dirty denim has recently made a fashionable comeback – embellished jeans. Embellished jeans have small beads, glittering stones or studs that give the denim pair an extra something.

At the moment we don’t have any dirty denim or embellished jeans in our range. As soon as this changes, I’ll be sure to update you here.
