Cold smoke generator for easy cold smoking of meat, fish, cheese, vegetables or anything else that simply tastes better when well smoked. Minimal heat is used to produce a very good yield of cold smoke so that the food can be smoked consistently and evenly. The cold smoke generator is made of stainless steel and has a spiral design so that a long smouldering time of up to eight hours can be achieved. The duration essentially depends on the quality of the smoking wood.
The smoking wood is decisive for the resulting flavour. Smoking chips made from beech are suitable for a wide range of foods, as they impart a mild flavour and are ideal for novice smokers. Birch also coats the food with a mild flavour, but with an additional special note that goes well with meats. If you want to enjoy a heavy smoke flavour without an aftertaste, you should choose oak wood. Another type of wood with a stronger flavour is alder, although it also has a slight sweetness. Smoking chips made from cherry wood are even fruitier and if you want the classic American BBQ flavour, you should go for hickory wood.
