Smash burgers - it's possible. Satake has developed a meat press that is perfect for both meat and burgers. Unlike many other burger presses, this one has a completely flat underside, which makes it ideal for smash burgers.
Tip for smash burgers: Heat a cast iron griddle or roasting tray and place a round, unseasoned ball of coarsely ground beef shoulder on it. Press the meat with the Satake Smash Burger Press. Apply firm pressure to flatten the burger patties completely. Season generously with salt and pepper and brown the underside to create a really delicious crust. Scrape with a good thin spatula and flip once. Season the other side and finish cooking. Assemble the burger, add the cheese and serve immediately.
