Binchotan, also known as White Coal or White Charcoal, is an exclusive charcoal that is carbonized at over 1200°C. This process gives it an unparalleled purity – it glows cleanly, quietly, and evenly, has a very long burning duration of 3-4 hours, and does not create flames when fat drips onto it. The sound it produces is glassy to metallic, and its appearance ranges from shiny silver to white. It is characterized by a very high carbon purity, providing consistent heat and a very stable glow. The metallic sound is a sign of the best quality. Binchotan can also be used as activated charcoal. To start the grill, the desired amount of Binchotan is ignited in a chimney starter, ideally with a gas burner underneath. The ignition time is about 25 minutes. Binchotan is smoke-free and does not produce flames. It has a much longer burning duration compared to conventional charcoal.
