Our largest fire starter of all time, the fireROD XL, is the bigger brother of the fireROD and has been brought to life by popular demand! It is not only larger but also includes a repair cord that can be burned to aid in igniting a fire.

The fireROD series was designed as the perfect fire-starting tool to carry on or in a knife sheath. The fire steel is replaceable, so you don’t have to discard this tool when the fire steel wears out. The design is simple, extremely reliable, and offers plenty of storage space for tinder or water purification tablets.

Strike the fireROD XL with the back of your knife. Many bushcrafting knives have a flat spine, making them suitable for use as a striking tool.

Remove the top cap to reveal a large compartment that holds four QuickLIGHT fire starters (included) or fill the compartment with tinder of your choice.

The approximately 4.7 cm long repair cord can be used to patch holes, as an improvised bandage, to make tools, or even as tinder (yes, it is flammable!).

The fireROD XL is CNC machined, made from high-quality US 6061 aluminum, and anodized in one of four typical Exotac colors for protection.
