They are also resistant to alkalis and many acids, compatible with bitumen, and serve as an outer wrapping for additional protection against wear caused by abrasion, weathering, and corrosion. This extends the service life and reduces the need for frequent maintenance. They provide stone chip, tread, and scratch protection for exposed and buried cables, pipes, and joints of cables and pipelines. These tapes are ideal for corrosion protection of exposed cables and pipelines, such as those on ships, in wet plants, and in the chemical industry.
