Independent 149 Forged Hollow Mid Set

The new Independent MiD Forged Hollow axles feature a lower profile for an optimal contact point angle at the nose and tail for flip tricks, ledges, and all-around street skating, with a recommended wheel size of 52 mm and below. The newly developed and first independent inverted axle pivot can be used with either a 5.5 mm Allen key or a standard 9/16" hex key. The innovative new wave nut in the base plate provides a stiff and durable solution against lateral movement, which is common in most inverted axle pivots, and enhances adjustability. The new MiD Forged Hollow stands at 50.5 mm high and is based on Independent's legendary geometry with full-size cushions for maximum turning ease. The completely new design includes new size markings under the hanger for easy identification. The height of 50.5 mm ensures optimal performance and wheel clearance for wheels with a diameter of 52 mm and below. A356 T6 aluminum hanger: the best lightweight aluminum alloy, heat-treated in T6 condition for strength, durability, and grind feel. Forged 6061 aluminum base plate: forged aircraft-grade aluminum allows for a thinner part that still maintains high density and strength. Hollow chromoly steel axle: high-quality hollow chromoly steel for durability and weight savings. Class 8 inverted axle pivot with 9/16" and 5.5 mm internal hex: never breaks, never bends. Steel wave nut with nylon locking insert.
