Robust climbing rope with a diameter of 9.6 mm. The Parrot 2R 9.6 from Edelrid is a durable all-round rope with a diameter of 9.6 mm and an ecologically reduced footprint. In this rope, 2R ("Reuse") stands for the reuse of high-quality leftover yarns from in-house production. According to the manufacturer, the properties and strength values are identical to those of a comparable rope made from first-use yarns.
Thermo Shield finishing. Thermo Shield is the basic finishing treatment that Edelrid applies to all ropes to ensure the proven suppleness of Edelrid ropes. This finishing is a thermal process that perfectly aligns the core and sheath yarns. Through a special heat treatment, the fibers in the rope relax and shrink out, harmonizing the sliding properties of the yarns within the rope, resulting in a supple and compact rope. This creates ropes that neither shrink back nor become stiff quickly.
