In this rope, 2R ("Reuse") stands for the reuse of high-quality leftover yarns from in-house production. According to the manufacturer, the properties and strength values are identical to those of a comparable rope made from first-use yarns.

Thermo Shield finishing. Thermo Shield is the basic finishing treatment that Edelrid applies to all ropes to ensure the proven suppleness of Edelrid ropes. This finishing is a thermal process that perfectly aligns the core and sheath yarns. Through a special heat treatment, the fibers in the rope relax and shrink out. This harmonizes the sliding properties of the yarns within the rope, making it supple and compact. This results in ropes that neither shrink back nor become stiff quickly.
