The chair 3107 from the Series 7 can be seen as the crowning achievement of the laminated veneer technique. Søren Hansen, the grandson of the company's founder Fritz Hansen, perfected the process in the 1920s and 1930s. The visionary designer Arne Jacobsen fully exploited the possibilities of laminated veneer in creating the legendary shape of this chair.
